Great British Menu Wales Champion 2010!

We are extremely proud that our Kitchen Chef Aled Williams won the Welsh heat and represented Wales in this year’s Great British Menu Final, the youngest chef taking part.

In the heats, Aled defeated two Michelin starred chefs with his menu concentrating on our superb local ingredients!

This year’s theme was sourcing and using the best local produce, a policy which has always been central to the way we plan our food at Plas Bodegroes. Judges Matthew Fort, Prue Leith and Oliver Payton were as critical as ever, but we are thrilled that Aled rose to the challenge!

The extensive research Aled put in to sourcing local produce for the Great British Menu challenge brought new supplies and ideas into our kitchen, and Aled, Hugh and Meirion continue to develop new dishes (with Chris's help!) to include on our menus along with old Bodegroes favourites.

Aled's Great British Menu

Cawl Cennin (Leek soup) with ham hock ballotine and smoked cheese mousse

Pan fried seabass with fennel puree, crab bon bon, tomato and herb dressing

Roast hogget loin with confit rib, braised shoulder potato cake, broad beans and mint

Baked lemon verbena custard with champagne rhubarb and black pepper shortbread
